Matthew 10:34  Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Daniel was a police dog.  He spent most of his time fighting dangerous criminals.  He was also one of the few dogs on the force who wasn't fighting ulcers.  All of the other police dogs wondered why.

At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace.  Our thoughts are often filled with visions of war, crime and poverty disappearing completely.  Sadly, we must then confront the reality that these things still exist.  Jesus didn't bring peace.  If anything, He created strife with His teaching.  What gives?

Jesus provides peace within.  Because He is our savior, redeemer and friend, He makes it possible for us to live without guilt, fear or doubt, replacing these things with love, joy and hope.
