Prejudice: what to do about it Luke 15:32 "But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found." Ono was a good baptist horse. She'd been raised in the church since she was a filly and loved Jesus with all her heart. Then one day a cat named Sam joined the church. Sam had only known Christ for a year. Before that, he had been a drunk, a wife-beater and an adulterer. Ono hated Sam and wanted him out of the church. When he was asked to be a deacon, she went ballistic. The pastor confronted Ono on this behavior and reminded her that she, too, had been forgiven. Both of them had been sinners, and both had been redeemed. In God's eyes, they were the same. Prejudice- it's not always about race, gender, age or size. Sometimes we judge people on things that they have actually done. It is easy to loathe a brother who has only recently been in sin. This, too, is prejudice. We must understand that God is the judge of sin. Any judging we do of one another is therefore premature. When we see that spite in ourselves, there is only one action to take. Rejoice and celebrate with him because he has straightened out. Take joy in the renewal of his character and let him take pride in the constancy of yours. This month, if you have spite toward a brother, reflect God's mercy to him.
